5-minute mango matcha latte: a refreshing drink combining sweet ripe mangoes with earthy matcha! A unique flavor combo that tastes as good as (if not better than how) it looks!
Why You Will Love This Matcha Mango Latte
Ingredients
- Fresh Mango: Adds a sweet and tropical note to the latte.
- Feel free to sub with frozen mangoes. They might not be as sweet, but just add a bit of liquid sweetener and it should work.
- Matcha Powder: Provides a rich, earthy taste and a boost of antioxidants!
- Hot Water: Helps dissolve the matcha powder to create a smooth mixture.
- Remember that we do NOT want boiling water (which is at 100°C/212°F), but we want to use hot water that is between 60 to 80°C (140 to 176°F).
- Ice Cubes: Makes for a refreshing iced mango matcha latte!
- Plant-Based Milk: The creamy base!
- My favorite is oat milk (like in my Matcha Oat Milk Latte), almond milk, or coconut milk (like in my Coconut Matcha Latte recipe).
- Liquid Sweetener (Optional): Needed if your milk comes unsweetened. Feel free to skip if your milk is already sweetened!
What Does Mango Matcha Latte Taste Like?
Mango matcha is a unique and refreshing blend of sweet tropical mango with earthy, slightly bitter, and perhaps even slightly grassy matcha.
The blended mango cubes also make this drink creamier, keeping you full for longer similar to smoothies (like in my Nutella Banana Smoothie)!
Step-by-step Instructions
Blend the Mango: Use a small blender to blend the mango cubes with water until smooth. We’re basically making a mango puree, which is very similar to my Sweet Mango Sauce recipe here.
You only need half a mango for each mango matcha latte, but make the puree with at least 1 mango (plus 1 Tablespoon of water) so the blender can work properly!
Make the Matcha: Add 1 teaspoon matcha powder with 2 Tablespoons warm water (60-80°C, 140 to 176°F) into a matcha bowl or any small bowl with a flat bottom. Whisk in a W or Z shape for 20-30 seconds until smooth. You can also use a handheld milk frother for 5-10 seconds.
Assemble the Latte: Pour the mango puree into a glass. Add ice, only until about half of your glass. Slowly pour plant-based milk over the mango puree. Then gently pour the matcha on top to create beautiful layers.
Once you add the ice cubes, the mango puree will look like it doubles its volume. So know that half a mango is enough for a serving!

Taste and Enjoy: Give it a quick stir before sipping. Adjust sweetness with liquid sweetener if desired, and enjoy!
Top Tips
- Use ripe mangoes for a sweeter and more flavorful puree.
- When making the matcha puree, use at least 1 whole mango so there is enough content in your blender.
- You only need 1/2 mango for a cup of this matcha mango latte so you can keep the rest in the fridge for later!
- Opt for ceremonial-grade matcha powder for the best quality. Culinary-grade matcha also works, but you won’t get that vibrant green color.
- Taste your latte before adding any sweetener, as both mangoes and your milk can vary in sweetness.
- Enjoy your matcha mango latte immediately for the best flavor!

Are Iced Matcha Lattes Healthy?
Matcha itself has many great health benefits as it promotes heart health, brain health, and even gum health as explained in this WebMD article. However, people might add a lot of additional sugar to lattes, which is not exactly healthy. This is why I recommend making your own at home since it’s very simple to make anyway!
Matcha and Caffeine
Matcha contains caffeine. Although it contains less caffeine than coffee, it contains about double the caffeine in green tea (source: Healthline).
Depending on how sensitive you are to caffeine, the caffeine might be enough to keep you awake at night before bed. This is why you’d want to try to consume matcha early in the morning instead of later at night!
What flavor is best in matcha?
Matcha pairs well with nutty flavor like almond (which is why matcha latte is great with almond milk), vanilla, coconut (like in this Coconut Matcha Latte), and lavender (like in this Lavender Matcha Latte). Given the natural earthiness and slight bitterness, matcha pairs well with a bit of sweetener like agave syrup, maple syrup, or (vegan) honey.
And when it comes to fruits, matcha goes great with mango (like in this matcha mango latte), berries (like strawberries and blueberries), and cherries.
Storage Instructions
This iced matcha mango latte is best consumed fresh so please do not prepare them in advance.
However, you can make the mango puree in advance and store it in the fridge for up to a week. That way, you can quickly whip up this mango matcha drink in 3 minutes!

5-Minute Iced Mango Matcha Latte Drink
Ingredients
Mango Puree (see notes)
- ½ fresh mango
- ½ Tablespoon water
Matcha Latte
- 1 teaspoon matcha powder about 2 bamboo matcha teaspoon/chashaku
- 2 Tbsp hot water about 60 to 80°C, so do NOT use boiling water which would have been at 100°C
- ½ cup ice cubes
- 1 cup plant-based milk
- ½ to 1 teaspoon of liquid sweetener optional; first do a taste test and then add if needed (see notes)
Instructions
- Blend the Mango: Blend the cubed mango + water until you get a smooth puree. I recommend using 1 mango and just double the mango puree recipe so there is enough content in the blender.
- Make the Matcha: In a small bowl, whisk 1 teaspoon matcha powder with 2 Tablespoons hot water (60-80°C). Use your matcha whisk to whisk in a W or Z shape (instead of the regular circular motion) until smooth for 20-30 seconds. If you don't have a bamboo whisk, a handheld milk frother works too!
- Assemble the Latte: Pour in the mango puree. If you're using 1 mango for the puree, just add half and keep the other one for next time. Then add your ice. Slowly pour 1 cup of plant-based milk over the mango puree. Finally, gently pour the matcha on top to create beautiful layers.
- Taste and Enjoy: Give it a quick stir before sipping. Taste and see if you'd like to add a bit of liquid sweetener and enjoy!
Notes
- Mango Puree: I like to at least double the mango puree recipe (so use 1 mango + 1 Tablespoon water). This ensures that there is enough food in my blender. Store the leftover in the fridge for up to a week to enjoy another mango matcha latte later!
- Liquid Sweetener: Most plant-based milk is sweetened and therefore you might not need any additional sweetener. However, if yours comes unsweetened, please add 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of liquid sweetener (like agave syrup or maple syrup).
- This of course also depends on preference so that’s why I recommend just doing a taste test!

This combo works!! Before and after stirring also give different texture to the latte, but I like both 🙂
