Ingredients and Substitutions

  • Mayo: I used my homemade cashew mayo but feel free to use any store-bought mayonnaise of choice!
  • Garlic: Swap 1 garlic clove with 1/8 teaspoon of garlic powder if needed.
  • Lemon Juice: Feel free to sub with lime juice but do NOT sub with bottled lemon juice as they just don’t have the same flavor as fresh lemon juice.
  • Black Pepper: Both ground and freshly cracked work here!

Top Tips

  • If your garlic is old and has a sprout inside, please remove the sprout. Otherwise, your aioli will be bitter!
  • Let the aioli sauce sit for 10-15 minutes for the flavor to meld together. So it’s better to make this sauce ahead.
  • Experiment with flavors! Maybe you want to add a bit of cayenne pepper for some heat like in my spicy aioli, or perhaps some pesto like in my pesto aioli. You can always check my sauces & dips page for more flavor inspiration!
