5-Minute Blue Matcha Latte (Butterfly Pea Latte)

EASY blue matcha latte, made with butterfly pea flower powder. Also known as mermaid latte or blue moon latte, this one is sure to impress!

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon butterfly pea powder sifted
  • 2 Tablespoons hot water
  • ¾ cup plant-based milk of choice (180 ml)

Optional Add-Ins

  • ½ to 1 cup ice cubes if serving cold
  • 1 teaspoon agave or maple syrup for a little sweetness
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract for added punch

Instructions

  • Sift and whisk the powder: Sift the butterfly pea powder into a cup, to prevent clumps. Whisk it with hot water until smooth, using either a whisk, fork, or frother.

  • Prepare the milk or ice (depending whether you want it served warm or cold).
    For a warm latte: Warm the plant-based milk on the stove or in the microwave. For a cold latte: Skip warming the milk and instead, add the ice cubes to your glass.
    ¾ cup plant-based milk of choice, ½ to 1 cup ice cubes
  • Pour the milk into your cup/glass, followed by the blue mixture. Stir to combine.
  • Add extras (optional): Mix in sweetener and vanilla if desired. Enjoy your blue latte!
