Serving Size 1serving
Ingredients
2scoops(vegan) vanilla ice creamor sub with coconut ice cream
1-2teaspoonmatcha powder
3Tablespoonswarm water(60 to 80℃, so 140°F to 175°F)
2teaspoonsdried cranberriesoptional, for a Christmas-themed affogato
Instructions
Sift the matcha powder onto a matcha bowl, or any small bowl with a flat bottom.
Add your warm water to the matcha. Avoid boiling water since you don't want to burn the matcha. If your kettle does not come with a temperature setting, stop it when it's hot but before boiling.
Whisk with a matcha whisk in a zig-zag motion, moving up and down rather than in circles. Do this until bubbles form and the matcha completely dissolves, around 20-30 seconds. You can also use a small whisk, a handheld frother, or just shake it in a jar.
Scoop 2 scoops of ice cream into your transparent serving glass.
For a Christmas-themed affogato, sprinkle some dried cranberries on top. Otherwise, feel free to skip.
Slowly pour in the matcha shot over the ice cream. Enjoy immediately!
